A 100% silk, twelve ply thread that initially divides into three groups of 4-ply. Before stitching, first separate and then regroup the desired number of plies.

For cross stitch, use 1-ply on 30 count or finer fabrics. Use 2-ply on 28 count linen. Use 4-ply on 18 count fabrics.

For needlepoint, use 4-ply on 18 count canvas. Use 6 to 8 plies on 12 to 13 count canvas.

Hand-dyed fibers display subtle differences that occur naturally between dye lots. When deciding how much thread to purchase, a little excess at the finish of your project is better than coming up short with crucial sections remaining. Dye lot differences become easily visible in large areas of the same color.
