US Military patches have their roots primarily in World War I. Various military units began designing and wearing unit patches. This practice has flourished since then, with thousands of various division and unit patches, many of them quite creative and memorable.
Military Patches
A young boy working at Union Terminal during World War II meets many military people on their way to and their way from. He makes many friends, and asks them to send back military patches. An impressive collection results, many of which are now rare and hard to find. We transformed it from a bunch of patches in an old cigar box, to the presentation seen here. It is scheduled to be on display at Union Terminal some time this year.
Framing Details: Patches are attached to acid free mat with silk thread. As much so as possible, patches are grouped by area of service. Frame not shown.
