I found this sweet marking sampler in an antique shop in Eguisheim, France. My original name for this design was La Petite Rouge and I had every intention of making it a little red sampler. But then my eyes fell on the lovely silks from Almond M&Ms, and I decided to stitch it in turquoise (Spruce) and cream (Snow Drift). I switched between the two colors as I worked on each section. As I was stitching, I decided I needed a pop of color, and added the coral silk (Bayberry), and decided to use that only for the numbers. This is when the name "Make It Your Own" was born. I hope you will choose your favorite colors and threads and truly make this sampler your own. |
