Beyond Basic Cross Stitch - 2027 Stitch Away Class

Many of us have mastered basic cross stitch, and maybe even a few specialty stitches. This Stitch Away class will help you add several beautiful stitches to your stitchy toolbox! Specialty stitches are often incorporated into cross-stitch designs to add texture, dimension, and decorative interest.

In this class the following stitches will be taught to create this project. (This specific design will not be finished in class, but you will have the ability to finish it on your own once you have learned the stitches.  It really is a quick stitch.)

• Alternating Border Stitch

• Herringbone

• Blanket stitch

• Symrna

• Algerian Eyelet

• Alternating Scotch Stitch

• Half Rhodes Stitch

• Half Rhodes, tied

• Satin Stitch

• French Knot

• Half Stitch

• Bonus:  Boullion Stitch

What you will need to bring to class:

• Magnification, if needed

• Light, if needed

• Embroidery Scissors

What will be supplied for the class:

• 25 count even weave serged fabric

• Floss

• Chart

• Valdani #12 perle cotton

• Needle

• Hoop

Limit 15 stitchers per class.
