Stitchers are a generous community!

Updated: Jul 11, 2023

A long-standing Keepsakes tradition is to tie a community service project to our stitching events and retreats. Stitchers who attended the 2023 Stitch Away retreat were asked to consider supporting Mary Magdalen House in Cincinnati by donating warm coats for those in need.

Like so many times before, we were deeply humbled by the generosity of this amazing stitching community. We collected 80 coats, and an assortment of other cold weather gear, including scarves, hats, gloves ... even a pair of boots, suit coats and t-shirts. Along with all of this, our attendees also donated $2,304 in cash, checks and gift cards.

Mary Magdalen House is located in the St. Anthony Center in Over-the-Rhine. They provide homeless persons a safe, welcoming place for persons in need to shower, have clothes laundered, use the phone and receive messages and email. Mary Magdalen House's mission is to serve the poor regardless of circumstance. Learn more about Mary Magdalen House here.

A huge thank you everyone who donated to this effort!
